Are your transportation operations working effectively to  rate and route your goods efficiently and timely while saving you money?  Is your organization aligned with your strategic goals in a way that allows individual responsibility and contribution that maximizes team objectives?

Every company today is facing challenges that stretch the supply chain and push your organization to accomplish more with less.  Gasoline prices keep increasing; SKU's keep proliferating; networks change; carriers merge and customers are continually demanding more from you and your transportation organization.  In order to remain on the leading edge of servicing internal and external constituents, companies are continually monitoring and checking their operations to understand where they can save additional dollars and improve efficiencies.

CornerStone Select's Transportation Consultants work with our clients across a number of strategic and operational transportation functions to drive cost savings and deliver enhanced customer service.  For many clients, our initial activities will include an Operational Assessment of your organization.  We want to understand your organization, how it serves your clients, relates to your carriers and how the people, process and technology support your overall transportation strategy.  Many clients begin with an assessment that is data driven and reviewed completely before presenting our results to senior management.  Once we have completed an assessment, we work along side of our clients to deliver the results that we present.

One of the most neglected areas of a companies supply chain is inbound transportation.   Many companies have become more efficient in managing and optimizing their outbound transportation.  One of the last area that is reviewed for efficiencies and savings is the inbound network.  By taking control of select inbound freight movements, many companies realize savings of 5 - 10% of the transportation costs - or 1.5% to 3% of their COGS.  It may not be easy to take control from your supply partners, but it provides significant returns when done properly.
